Mission Unity, Inc. was incorporated as a Florida non-profit corporation in May 2002, to assist in facilitating the successful long-term recovery of persons expressing a commitment to complete abstinence from substance abuse and addictive lifestyles.

In 2005, FCLF provided funding of $375,000 to Mission Unity in order to purchased and rehabilitate a single-family home utilized as transitional housing, and a triplex home utilized as men’s dorm. This provided 42 units of supportive rental housing, With a second loan of $300,000 in 2007, Mission Unity is currently constructing up to 6 homes that will provide transitional and permanent housing for graduates of their program. These homes are building built to Green standards.

Mission Unity provides safe, stable, sober and supportive transitional and permanent housing to persons who have become homeless as a result of their addictive lifestyle. Residents commit to participating in 12-step recovery programs, including attending spiritual-based meetings at least 5 days a week. Residents must find and hold a job, with transportation provided to job interviews and essential appointments. Mission Unity works in connection with the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition and the United Way of Charlotte County, in addition to many other organizations that are a part of the Charlotte County Collective (“C3”).
