Jessie Ball duPont Fund

The Jessie Ball duPont Fund, as Florida's leading national foundation, was one of the earliest supporters of FCLF through a unique partnership made possible by the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. With the gracious support of the Archdiocese, the Loan Fund received a large equity investment of $500,000 from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund as well as generous operating support.
More recently, the duPont Fund has committed $2 million to develop and preserve affordable rental housing for low-income individuals and families in Duval County, through a Program Related Investment (PRI).
The Loan Fund profoundly shares the core values of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. Like the duPont Fund it maintains a peer relationship with its borrowers in an open, direct and efficient manner of communication. As an institution of social conscience it works daily to empower and invest in low-income communities throughout Florida.
The Jessie Ball duPont Fund is a national foundation having a special, though not exclusive, interest in issues affecting the South.
The Fund accomplishes its mission by working creatively with individual institutions whose eligibility was determined exclusively by Mrs. duPont's prior personal philanthropic decisions.
The Fund organizes its resources around six focus areas:
* Strengthening the Independent Sector * Organizing and Nurturing Philanthropy * Building Assets of People, Families and Communities * Building the Capacity of Eligible Organizations * Stimulating Community Problem Solving * Helping People Hold their Communities Accountable
Throughout their work, the trustees and staff of the Fund strive to:
* Learn with and from the people they serve. * Respect the wisdom and creativity of the organizations and communities with whom they work. * Engage in thoughtful and disciplined reflection about the decisions they make. * Maintain the highest ethical standards in all that they do. * Act with compassion, work for justice, and champion the rights of all people to share in the wealth and health of our nation.
