Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare celebrated the opening of its new clinic building in Fernandina Beach with a ribbon cutting on May 27, 2026. The new location will also house the organization’s administrative offices.
Since 1992, Starting Point has provided mental health and substance use treatment for residents of Nassau County and the surrounding Northeast Florida region through a range of programs, treatment services, and treatment groups; including linking individuals to resources that advance their healing. In 2025, the organization reached over 12,000 clients; an estimated 95% from low-income households. From the newly opened location, Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare anticipates reaching an additional 700 clients. The organization’s motto is “Healing Begins Here.”
Florida Community Loan Fund provided financing for land acquisition and construction for the new 5,000 square-foot facility. FCLF has provided financing for other Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare locations, through a total of 7 loans since 2014.
