Florida Community Loan Fund has closed on a loan with Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, its 2nd for the organization. Habitat Lake-Sumter has a vision to transform local communities through attracting volunteers to Central Florida, allowing it to serve as an economic development engine. With a loan from FCLF, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, FL will purchase and renovate an empty retail center into a European-style hostel where 5,000 to 10,000 volunteers per year can stay while engaging in volunteer activities in low-income communities.
